A Letter of Advice to All Positive-Thinking People

Dear Positive Thinkers,

There is a difference between being negative and being realistic. A negative person will give up at the first sign of adversity. They will tell you they can't and won't do it, and leave the project immediately. A realistic person will tell you they can't do it, but they will stay and will be willing to learn IF you help them. A negative person will never see the bright side of anything, even if they are already having a really good day, while a realistic person will acknowledge the good and the bad. They see both sides, and they know life isn't a bed of roses. A negative person does not know how to take it a day at a time and never will, while a realistic person is cautious, but knows that life and time is a precious gift and is not to be wasted. They live to the fullest within the limits, and not carelessly like most.

A negative person and a realistic person sound the same to a positive person, but we are different in so many ways. Remember that we have friends like you, so we're not really as anti-social as a negative person, who may have trust issues against humanity.

So please stop telling us we're negative. We're not. Please help us when we say we can't do it. That's what we really mean, anyway.

Sincerely,
Realistic Thinkers
